19 Apr Autor Foods joins the United Nations Global Compact

The United Nations Global Compact Network has approved our participation in the world’s largest voluntary corporate social responsibility initiative. This compact has been endorsed by more than 13,000 entities with a presence in more than 160 countries. The objective is to implement the Ten Universal Principles in society and business on human rights, labour, the environment and best management practices as well as reach the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

Our business strategies and operations were already aligned with the Ten Universal Principles yet we are now making them visible and official by becoming a signatory. Moreover, we’re going a step further because we’ve also become participants in the United Nations Global Compact Networkto support it.

The same is true for the Sustainable Development Goals. In one way or another, we were already contributing to them and, now, we’ll have a clearer idea and guidelines to move forward together.

At Autor Food, we trust that our commitment will boost the continued implementation of initiatives that contribute to sustainable development. Thus, we’re working to apply sustainability across each of our areas and production processes beyond just creating a social responsibility department. Plus, it is our will to make progress so sustainability is the focus throughout the company.

Of the more than 13,000 entities comprising the Global Compact Network, nearly 60% are SMEs just like Autor Foods. And the fact is, small and medium enterprises play an extremely important role in achieving these goals and creating a transformational business environment that leads sustainable development.

At Autor Foods, we absolutely support the Global Compact by integrating the Ten Universal Principles and 17 SDG into our company strategy, participating in the initiative as signatories and working so our stakeholders may follow in our footsteps. All of us can contribute to the achievement of the SDG with small daily gestures which, together, will be a huge step for all of society.
